1--1443-68021.  American Kestrel female.  Intake 10-1996. This bird originally came into rehab with a shoulder injury and head trauma.   Could not fly.  Bird was placed in a educational center and was used from 11-96 until the spring of 1997.   While cleaning her cage she escaped and flew around the room.  She was sent back to the rehabber for conditioning, and was released 8-15-97.  She was found dead in a snow bank outside Muskego Wisconsin on Jan 10-1999.  She was released outside Milwaukee Wisconsin.

 

2--745-96680.  Coopers hawk.  Intake 3-10-96.  Banded as second year bird.  Original injury a broken right wing.  Released  outside New London Wisconsin, found dead in Appleton 10-28-1999.

 

3-- 614-09260.  Coopers hawk.  Intake 1-11-1995.  Found in a ruffed grouse cage outside Dale , Wisconsin.  Transported here, observed, banded and released outside New London, 1-18-1995.   Second year bird when banded.  Found dead on the road outside Dale Wisconsin,  on 3-3-1999 where originally found. Went back to original site.

Of the 59 ducks released in 1998-8 were shot, 1 injured by a car hit and 1 hit a building on first flight and was found dead.  The injured duck was rehabbed and released.

 

May 16 1999 a  banded female mallard was observed at the release site, she was with her 8 young ducks in tow...............

All of these ducks were released in the same location west side of Appleton Wisconsin. The ones that were shot were recovered in the following location.

19 Wood ducks                  No shooting records were received on these ducks to date.

                             MISC BIRDS

1-Pileated woodpecker received March 3,2004 with a broken wing, two places.  Just left rest and on March 21, 2004 she was banded and released back to where she was found. 

On March 24, 2005 I received a call from the person that found the bird, she was in their yard on March 23, 2005 , band sighted on right leg.
